What Election Results mean for Afghanistan

As Iraq descends into open civil war, Afghanistan went to the polls today in the run off elections that will determine the fate of a war-torn nation in the world's most volatile region. If Dr. Abdullah wins, you can expect the rise of Islam (banditry, gangsterism, piracy and genocide) as we see in Iraq and Syria. If Dr. Ghani wins, Afghanistan will enable civilization & enlightenment (grassroots development, the prospects of a middle class, the rise of a technocracy and respect for the rule of law). For everyone's sake, I'm hopeful Dr. Ghani wins for the sake of national unity and regional peace!
