The Afghanistan of our dreams and imagination

Once upon a time, before Hazaras became Shia Muslims enslaved to Iran and before Pashtuns were Sunni Muslims enslaved to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, all Afghan ethnic groups lived harmoniously as Buddhist, Hindu, Jew, Zoroastrian and an assortment of pagan religions. The tribes were united in peace and there were no proxy wars fought on Afghan soil. Those were the days when the Kalash and Nuristanis embraced matriarchy and Ghazni and Kandahar were the Sodom & Gomorrah of Central Asia. That’s the real Afghanistan. One that is feminist and free, modern and multicultural, sexy and sovereign. Let’s reinvent the Afghanistan of eminence and marvel the world!
